Privacy Policy for Dayline

This Privacy Policy explains how Dayline (com.yellowgalaxy.dayline) handles information when you use the Android application. Dayline is an offline-first daily planner supported by advertising.
Information you add to Dayline
Dayline lets you enter task titles, notes, due dates, scheduled times, durations, priorities, recurrence settings, completion status, and reminder preferences. This planner information is stored locally in the app’s private database on your device.
Dayline does not require an account, and the developer does not operate a server that receives or stores your planner information. Android backup is disabled for Dayline. Your task titles and notes are not sent to Google Mobile Ads for advertising.
Advertising and consent information
Dayline uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK to display a banner advertisement on the Week screen. Google states that its Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect and share:
- Your device’s IP address, which may be used to estimate general location.
- App and advertisement interactions, such as app launches, taps, and ad views.
- Diagnostic information about the performance of the app and advertising SDK.
- Device and account identifiers, including the Android advertising ID, app set ID, and other applicable device identifiers.
Google states that this information is encrypted in transit. Google and its advertising partners may process information according to their own privacy policies. See Google’s advertising data disclosure, Google’s Privacy Policy, and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Dayline uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request and store applicable advertising consent choices. Depending on your location, choices, device settings, and Google’s eligibility rules, advertisements may be personalized, non-personalized, or limited. Dayline does not request an advertisement until UMP reports that advertisements may be requested. The planner remains usable if you decline consent or an advertisement fails to load.
Where available, you can review or change applicable advertising choices by opening Settings > Privacy options in Dayline. You can also reset or delete the Android advertising ID through your device’s privacy or ads settings.
Notifications
Dayline can schedule local task reminders through Android’s background-work system. On supported Android versions, Dayline asks for notification permission before notifications can be displayed. Reminder jobs contain the task identifier and scheduled start time needed to locate the locally stored task when the reminder runs.
If private notification titles are disabled, a notification may display the task title on the device. You can enable private notification titles in Dayline’s Settings to use a generic notification title instead. You can disable task reminders in Dayline or revoke notification permission in Android settings.
Internet access
Dayline’s planning features work offline. Internet access is used by Google Mobile Ads and UMP to load consent information, request advertisements, perform measurement, and help prevent fraud and abuse. An unavailable network or advertising service does not prevent you from using the planner.
Data retention and deletion
Planner information remains on your device until you delete an individual task, choose Settings > Erase all tasks, clear the app’s storage through Android, or uninstall Dayline. Completing a task keeps its local history until you delete it or erase all tasks.
Because the developer does not receive your planner database, the developer cannot view, export, recover, or remotely delete it. Information processed by Google is retained according to Google’s policies and your applicable advertising choices.
Sharing and sale of information
The developer does not sell your planner information and does not share task titles, notes, schedules, or completion history with third parties. Google and its advertising partners may collect and share the advertising-related information described above to provide advertising, analytics, and fraud-prevention services.
Security
Dayline stores planner information inside Android’s private app storage and disables Android backup. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining appropriate access controls on your device.
Children’s privacy
Dayline is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. The developer does not knowingly collect planner information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through an advertising service, contact the developer using the address below.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning personal information processed by the developer or third-party providers. Dayline gives you direct control over locally stored planner information through task deletion and Erase all tasks. Use Privacy options for available advertising choices and contact Google for requests concerning information Google controls.
You may contact the developer at [SUPPORT EMAIL ADDRESS] with privacy questions. Because no Dayline account exists and planner information is not transmitted to the developer, the developer may be unable to identify you or retrieve information stored only on your device.
International processing
Google and its service providers may process advertising and consent information in countries other than the country where you live. Their processing is governed by their policies and applicable data-transfer safeguards.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when Dayline’s features, service providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top will be revised when changes are published. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or store listing when appropriate.
