World Scratch: Travel Map is a digital travel scratch map. The app lets you mark countries you have visited, view travel statistics, search countries, and share a short travel progress message.

Information We Store Locally

World Scratch: Travel Map stores your travel progress locally on your device using Android DataStore.

This local data may include:

Visited country ISO codes
App preferences, such as theme choice
Whether onboarding has been completed
Local consent/settings state where applicable

This travel progress is stored on your device. We do not require an account, login, registration, or backend server for the app’s core features.

Information We Do Not Collect

World Scratch: Travel Map does not collect, upload, sell, or share your visited-country list with our own servers.

The app does not collect:

Your precise location
Your name
Your email address
Your contacts
Your photos or files
Account credentials
Travel history on a backend server

The app does not use login, user accounts, Firebase Authentication, Supabase, or a custom backend database.

Advertising

World Scratch: Travel Map uses Google AdMob to show ads. Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and share certain data for advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, security, and performance purposes.

Depending on your device, region, consent choices, and Google settings, this may include:

IP address, which may be used to estimate general location
App interactions, such as app launches, taps, and ad interactions
Diagnostic and performance information
Device identifiers, such as the Android advertising ID, app set ID, or related identifiers

Consent

Where required, the app may use Google’s User Messaging Platform to request and manage advertising consent, including for users in regions such as the EEA, UK, or Switzerland.

You may be able to manage ad/privacy consent from within the app settings where this option is available.

Sharing

If you use the Share feature, World Scratch: Travel Map opens the Android share sheet with a message containing your visited-country count and exploration percentage.

The app does not automatically send this information anywhere. The information is shared only if you choose an app or service from the Android share sheet and complete the share action.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your visited-country selections and preferences remain stored locally on your device until you remove them.

You can delete your travel progress inside the app by using the reset travel data option in Settings. You can also remove app data through Android system settings or uninstall the app.

Because the app does not create user accounts or store your travel progress on our servers, we do not have a server-side account deletion process for travel data.

Security

Your travel progress is stored locally using Android platform storage. Advertising-related data handled by Google Mobile Ads SDK is transmitted according to Google’s SDK and service practices, including encryption in transit where applicable.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, but we aim to use standard Android platform mechanisms and avoid collecting unnecessary personal data.

Children’s Privacy

World Scratch: Travel Map is not specifically directed to children. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children through our own servers. Advertising SDK behavior may depend on app configuration, Google policies, user settings, and applicable law.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are made, the updated policy will be posted with a new effective date.
